Choosing a thesis topic is one of the most important steps in the study period, laying the foundation for independent research work. The goal is for students to delve deeply into a problem related to a specific field and become capable of processing it in a scientific manner.
Choosing a topic also gives students the opportunity to address practical or theoretical questions that match their interests. Choosing the right topic is key to writing a successful thesis.
Students are advised to choose a topic related to the knowledge acquired in their own field of study (not tied to a specific department).
A thesis that has been submitted and graded as unsatisfactory cannot be rewritten for three years from the date of submission, but after three years, a new thesis must be written, which means that a new topic must be chosen. (TVSz 86§ 3. point)
Speed is of the essence when applying (similar to applying for exams on Neptun). Only one student can apply for a “slot” at a time, and each student can only apply once. It is not possible to apply for more topics than those displayed.
The topics are general and must be specified with the internal supervisor.
The department heads will finalize the applications, so they will decide which supervisor is assigned to the chosen topic.
When choosing a topic for your thesis, it is worth looking for an area that arouses your interest and is related to the knowledge you have acquired previously. A well-chosen topic will make the writing process easier and increase your motivation.
The topic of the master's thesis should be chosen in such a way that it provides an opportunity for in-depth study and independent thinking. It is advantageous if the chosen topic fits in with the professional orientation and future goals.
