Record number of applicants at Széchenyi University – Kautz Faculty is the second most popular

Based on the results of the 2025 general admission procedure, a total of 4,739 first-year students were admitted to Széchenyi István University. This is one of the highest admission numbers in the history of the institution, even though the minimum score requirements were raised for several programs.

The most popular faculty this year was once again the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, while the second most popular was the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics. The Kautz Faculty's economics programs, especially those in business and management, as well as commerce and marketing, continue to attract significant interest.

The results show that the university's programs continue to be attractive to young people, and the higher admission thresholds reinforce the quality of the student body. Both Széchenyi István University and the Kautz Faculty play an important role in Hungarian higher education.
