Successes of András Aschenbrenner at Széchenyi University: Scholarships, Research, Community Work
Széchenyi István University offers a wide range of opportunities to support students' academic and personal development, including scholarships, professional colleges, and research programmes. These resources are available from the very first semester and play a key role in building a successful career.

András and László Aschenbrenner, a pair of brothers from Tatabánya, have been actively taking advantage of these opportunities. After completing his undergraduate studies in engineering informatics, András continued his education in the Master's programme in Management and Leadership at the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics. In his second semester, he joined the University Student Union (EHÖK), where he held several roles, including programme coordinator and vice-president.
During his Master's studies, András began to focus deliberately on academic research, particularly in the field of digital transformation. His work has been supported by both the Neumann János IT Professional College and the Széll Kálmán Economic Data Science College. He presented his research at multiple conferences and academic competitions, winning second place at the Scientific and Artistic Student Conference in November 2024 and first place in May 2025.
In recognition of his scientific achievements, András was awarded the University Research Scholarship, which is open not only to Master’s students but also to young lecturers, researchers, doctoral students, and undergraduates. Applications for the 2025–2026 academic year are open until 15 June.
His brother László, an undergraduate student in engineering informatics at the Faculty of Mechanical, Informatics and Electrical Engineering, is also an active member of the university community. Since his first year, he has participated in various projects, developed applications, and conducted research on Windows systems. Based on his accomplishments, he too was awarded the University Research Scholarship, which enabled him to attend and present at professional conferences.
The brothers are now preparing to gain international research experience through the Pannonia Scholarship Programme next academic year, aiming to apply their knowledge to their studies and professional work in Hungary.
The university’s diverse opportunities – including the student union, professional colleges, and research programmes – significantly contribute to students’ professional and personal growth and help integrate them into the academic community. Széchenyi István University is committed to supporting its students in achieving their goals and fostering their involvement in the world of science.
