Marketing in practice - an experience
Experience report by Tünde Skultéty, Master's student in Tourism and Management
Planning and Resources of Integrated Marketing Communication is a practice-oriented university course where students get the opportunity to work on the marketing activities of real hospitality businesses – such as the Elixir Bar and the newly opened Paneer Restaurant. Working in groups of 3–4 people allows us to develop our creative ideas and design and execute real marketing campaigns. Through this, we not only gain theoretical knowledge but also acquire practical experience, which is a great advantage for our professional development.
The filming session on March 21 at Elixir was a special experience, made possible with the support of the team at Elixir and Dr. Veronika Keller. This occasion allowed us to put our previously developed plans into practice, giving us insight into both the joys and challenges of creating marketing campaigns. During the shoot, we not only gained professional knowledge but also grew as a team, as collaboration and flexibility were key to successful work.
The filming, which took place in a great atmosphere, enriched us with valuable experiences that we can apply in our future projects. We are grateful to our instructor for the opportunity and guidance, as well as to the Elixir team for providing the venue and their helpful assistance throughout.
The course offers an excellent opportunity to gain real, hands-on knowledge during our university studies, while also allowing us to unleash our creativity.
