Széchenyi successes at the Treasures of the Mátra professional competition

On March 10, 2025, the Gundel Károly Szakkollégium of the Budapest University of Economics and Business organised the Treasures of Mátra professional competition. Fifteen teams participated in the prestigious competition, including three teams from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality of Széchenyi István University, who achieved outstanding results.

Fanni Varga and Gabriella Anita Szűcs represented our university in the category "Tastes of Mátra - Gastronomy tour reimagined". Their tutors were Dr. Csaba Kőmíves and Dr. Ferenc Darabos, associate professors. 

In the category "Farm-to-Hotel" Noémi Barcza and Fruzsina Ecsedi, their tutor was Anikó Husz, Master teacher. László Dániel Biczi and Nikoletta Orbán, assisted by Dr. Viktória Kundi, Head of Department.

The teams' work was evaluated by a prestigious jury of experts, including Ivett Bődi, former deputy CEO of MTÜ, tourism consultant; Márton Takács, owner of Moore Hungary; Ágnes Kápolnai Nagy, president of the Mátra Future Tourism Association.

It is a special achievement that two teams from Széchenyi - László Dániel Biczi and Nikoletta Orbán, and Fanni Varga and Gabriella Anita Szűcs - made it to the final! The final competition will take place on 25 March at Hotel Ozon & Luxury Villas **** Superior.
