Tourism diplomacy in practice – A professional seminar by the Hungarian Tourism Agency
On the afternoon of April 23, the professional seminar of "Tourism diplomacy – diversity in international relations" was held at the workshop room of Science Park. The event was organized by our university, primarily targeting students from the tourism and hospitality department.

The invited presenter for the event was Dr. Márta Fazekas, head of Tourismdiplomacy of Hungarian Tourism Agency. She presented the basics of tourism diplomacy, its current issues, and its diverse role in the system of international relations with extensive professional experience and a direct approach towards the audience.
She explained how tourism appears in the field of diplomacy, the strategic aims it serves, and the role it plays in strengthening relations between different countries. Her presentation also covered the tools of tourism diplomacy, with a special focus on data-driven decision-making and targeted marketing communications. The role of data provision was highlighted during the lecture, which empowers a deeper understanding of tourist behaviors and preferences, establishing the basis for creating targeted marketing campaigns and strategic tourism development.
We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Márta Fazekas for the inspiring seminar, which provided valuable professional insight for all of us.
