Achievements of the Széll Kálmán Student Association: National and International Successes

In the spring semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association once again gained recognition through its students’ outstanding professional achievements both in Hungary and abroad. The student association aims to educate talented students at the intersection of economics and data science, combining in-depth academic knowledge with hands-on, practical skills. Recent results clearly demonstrate that the community is not only strong in theory but also excels in solving real-world challenges.

In April 2025, the prestigious Modul Business Championship was held as an international business competition that offers university students from around the world a platform to present strategic solutions to real-world business challenges. Representing Széchenyi István University, three members of the student association — Laura Vas, Patrik Eszes, and Szabolcs Horváth — delivered an outstanding performance and secured an impressive 5th place in the competition.

Spa Management 2025: Professional and Sustainability Trends in the Spa Sector

Spa Management - Department of Tourism and Management SZEDuring the 2025 spring semester of the Spa Management course, two active and renowned experts shared the latest professional knowledge and up-to-date trends in the spa sector with the students. The speakers enriched the course participants with both theoretical and practical insights, ensuring that they received current information on market expectations and the latest innovations. The lectures were particularly important for the students’ professional development, as the challenges and opportunities of the field were directly discussed by experienced professionals. The knowledge gained during the course was not only theoretical but also highly practical, enabling students to apply it directly in their future careers.

Zsanett Pintérné Zámbó, Quality Assurance Manager and HR Manager at Sárvár Gyógyfürdő Kft., gave a presentation titled “The Process of Obtaining the National Certification Trademark for Spas in Hungary.” She provided a detailed overview of the steps to obtain the certification, the role of quality assurance systems, and the criteria that spas must meet. She specifically focused on the example of Sárvár Gyógyfürdő, where she illustrated the quality assurance processes and efforts made towards obtaining the certification with concrete examples. This presentation gave students the opportunity to understand how a spa can not only operate successfully but also stand out in terms of quality. The interactive session allowed students to actively contribute with their questions, making the learning experience based on real professional experiences.
